This week your challenge is simple...document that first! It could be a first step or a first tooth...or first prom...you get the picture. :) Just scrap that first.
Remember to send your completed challenge layout to me at jenns@sweetpeascraps.com by the 25th of the month to get your name in the drawing!! Have fun and can't wait to see what you come up with!!
Ah yes, the joys of ordering each month! You would think it would be easy. Pick out products, order products, receive products, sort products into a marvelous kit, ship products to dt, then to customers. But it almost never works like that! We just got in our fabulous October Afternoon papers for the November Kits - but the chipboard wasn't there! Turns out it's not going to be available in time.
So plan B! I just removed the OA chipboard from the sneak peek below. Instead of the OA chipboard you will be receiving an assortment of SEVEN My Minds Eye frames, die-cuts, journaling cards, etc. AND FOUR of these cute, cute flowers from Julie's Etsy Shop :
Here's a little taste of November! Be sure to check out a complete list of what's in the kit on the Sneak Peek area of our website. We don't have everything in yet, so this isn't the complete kit pictured! You will receive ONE Maya Road mini black scallop sheer (several are pictured) and approximately 9 assorted Basic Grey Buttons (again a lot more than 9 are pictured)
Calling all interested parties, Sweet Pea Scraps is looking for new Design Team
Members to start in December 2008!!
As a Sweet Pea Scraps Design Team Member you will receive a
free monthly kit each month from which we will ask you to complete 6 pages (6
total, not 6 double page spreads) for submission to the monthly gallery. Kits will be shipped to you between the 10th and the 15th
of each month and you will have approximately 2 weeks to complete these
layouts. Layouts should be completed by
the 1st of the following month. You will need to be able to scan and
e-mail your layouts to sweetpea@sweetpeascraps.com
so they can be loaded onto the design team gallery for the current month.
Unfortunately there
is no monetary compensation for your designs, however please know that we
respect that these are your original or scraplifted designs and have no
intention of profiting from them in any other way than using them to showcase
the products in our monthly kits.
We also ask that you participate in our blog challenges. We offer weekly challenges to our members and
other scrappers. On average you will
need to supply a challenge once a month.
Eight layouts that you consider best showcase your style.

please include:
Your name

This open call begins on October 5th and the deadline for entries is November 1st at 11:59pm MST.
At this time due to
the length of time it takes kits to arrive overseas, only entries from the US and Canada will be considered. Winners will be announced on the Sweet Pea
Vine and contacted by e-mail on November 5, 2008. New members will begin their term of no longer
than 12 months with the December kits which will ship mid November.
They suck, they really do. I know from personal experience this past summer when I went without for about a month. Our other guest designer, Molly Peckham is having some computer issues at the moment and hasn't been able to get us her pages. Stick with us and hopefully Molly will get her computer up and running soon!
How many times have you been scrapping late at night working on a page topic that you are struggling to find accents for in your stash? Maybe it's a different topic, or maybe you just don't have something that you wish you did. Instead of waiting for the next day to run to the scrapbook store, why not create your own page accent! For this page I wanted to do something with a weather theme. I decided to make my own cloud and raindrops and I love the way it turned out. Now let's see what you can come up with! ;)
We have two - yep 2, TWO - guest designers lined up for you this month!! When we first decided to have two guest designers this month (something we have never done) I had Jenn pick one and then I picked another. After we recieved confirmation that both of these wonderful designers were on board with us we found out that they are friends! Small world huh? So without further ado, here is Laura Vegas :)
Hey everyone! My name is Laura Vegas. I live in sunny California with my husband of almost 10 years, Joe. And we have 2 gorgeous girls, Alyssa (12 years old) and Sarah (9 years old). Both are very busy girls with lots of activities going on, including their 6th year of soccer which is in full swing right now. I work full-time in my home as a Daycare Provider. The ages I care for range from newborns all the way up to 8 years old. One of the extra perks of my job, is that I have lots of different faces around to photograph and scrap! My girls and the daycare kiddos are the main focus of my scrapbook albums, but every once in a while I manage to work in a layout or two about myself. I have been scrapping for almost 13 years now, and in the past 2 years I have also been really focusing on improving my photography skills. My scrapbook style is very clean and linear, tons of fun and bright colors, and lots of details and embellishments. You'll usually find 3-4 photos on my layouts, but I also love to use just one photo when it's one I really love. My work has been published in various magazines and idea books such as PaperKuts, Creating Keepsakes, PaperCrafts, Scrapbooks Etc, Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends, and Cards. I was chosen to be a part of the 2006 PaperKuts Power Team, have been on the Lil Davis Design Team, and am currently a member of the Making Memories Design Team. I was thrilled when Julie asked me to be a guest designer this month, along with Molly. She had mentioned that they had put together a kit that was "right up your alley", and they were totally right! I had so much fun working with this kit, and I hope you all enjoy seeing what i came up with!
Those of you who know us know that we usually have our design team gallery up early or at the very latest by today!
This month there was a lot of new product from CHA summer, which didn't start shipping until September. We were not able to get out kits out to our design team as early as we usually do! One of our two Canadian designers is in the process of moving across country and the other one has not even received her kit yet!
One of our other designers is in the process of moving right now as well.
With that in mind we have TWO great guest designers for October, Laura Vegas and Molly Peckham!
We have given all of our designers a few extra days to get there layouts into us, as they received their kits so late this month!
Thanks for your understanding with this!! Keep checking back for the great layouts on their way!!!!
So this is your first challenge for the month of October...which..can you believe it's almost here? CRAZY!! It'll be Christmas before we know it..then New Year's...but really...I'm SO not ready for winter already!! ACK!
So this challenge is going to be fun and probably quite easy. :) I just want you to find a layout in the Sweet Pea Scraps gallery....and lift it!! It can be ANY gallery and it can be ANY Sweet Pea girl...just one that you love. That's it!! Easy peasy!! Have fun and I cannot wait to see what you come up with!!
Remember to send your layouts to me...at jenns@sweetpeascraps.com by the 25th of October for your chance at the drawing!!
